2022 in Poetry — P.E.A.C.E
2022 has been a hard blow to the chest because I literally had to flow with the wind. In poetry, I would describe it as ‘change’ in the most subtle and confusing way possible. God did, and I’m grateful he did this year because all I had to do was believe. Each part describes per month of the year, which in total is 12.
I’m not usually speechless
But here I am
Being swindled by the storms
Wave by wave
Punch by punch
Quite fitting for death
Can I crawl to solitude,
Where I can hear my own thoughts clearly?
Where I can talk to her?
I miss her voice,
Her fight,
Her love
I want her to feel my joy
O come back,
Come and be happy once again
Clear my eyes,
Clear my heart,
Just so I can see a glimpse of her
Now far away, but closer than before
Her eyes still dim
Brighter when I smile in her direction
Maybe I should stop running
The more I run,
The farther she seems to be
I call on the waves to be friends
‘Flow with me’
‘Let us glide into the clouds forever’
One wave
Moving in sync
Look at me… us
Who would’ve thought?
A shell of herself…
Finally at her side
Her arms embrace me,
with glowing eyes,
‘Here’s your final stop’

I usually do not write or review my years depending on the different aspects of life, but I’d love to start that now. Enjoy the short poem, leave a comment, and share ❤. Happy new year lovelies ❤.
